So that first post I created on my phone...can't figure out how to get it onto my computer...so oh well...

It's now Saturday afternoon. I'm feeling more like myself after sleeping 12 hours last night. But let's go back a bit shall we?

I arrived at Ben Gurion airport at around 1pm. Took a while to get off the plane because I was about 5 rows from the back and everyone in the front was moving so slowly. Luckily, customs didn't take long, and my bags were already on the belt by the time I got there, so it was rather quick to retreive them.

I had to wait about 30 min for the Gabels to get there. I tried to buy a SIM card for my phone and had my first Israeli customer service encounter: As I walked into the shop, a gentleman was leaving. The employee started helping me, asked me how long my trip is, did I want a phone on a contract or pre-paid, said pre-paid would be 200 shekels (roughly $50 canadian). Then the gentleman came back into the store and the employee completely ignored me to continue her dealings with the guy. I waited patiently for a few min, then got annoyed and left. I was going to go back in after doing a loop and not seeing the Gabels, but then I heard my name being called by the younger son, Ayal.

Got to the house on a moshav near Netanya, had a bite to eat, took a shower, and napped for close to 2 hours. Then I went with Yacov (the father) to pick something up from his niece's house. Came back to a power failure so we ate shabbat dinner by candlelight. The lights came on after about an hour and a half. We watched some tv, and then the boys and I played poker for a bit (beat them both). I went to bed at around 10:30.

Today after waking up, I went with Rhoda (mom) and Yacov to a nursery to buy flowers. Today is Rhoda's birthday. Now as I'm typing this I'm being called for lunch.

I'm going to look for a SIM tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm going into Tel Aviv with Yacov. He has a work thing, so he'll drop me off in a mall to wander for a few hours and then he'll pick me up.

Did a bit of a friends cut...went through my list and cut those who haven't updated in a loooooong time or those who I haven't really made a "connection" with. I'd rather have a small list who I can really get to know, and have the time to communicate with back and forth, than a long list of friends to look cool or something. Anyway, I hope there's no hard feelings...you're all cool people! And maybe our paths will cross again.
